As a key player in the launch of Issuu’s app on Canva, I helped lead the integration campaign that introduced a new creative workflow to Canva’s millions of monthly active users.

Overview

As a key player in the launch of Issuu’s app on Canva, I helped lead the integration campaign that introduced a new workflow to Canva’s users. This bi-directional integration enables creators to design in Canva, seamlessly publish their work through Issuu as a flipbook, and track real-time stats of their flipbooks in the Canva workspace. My contributions were pivotal in ensuring the campaign's success, creating the content needed for every channel, driving the messaging, and monitoring the campaign's performance to ensure continuous optimization.

Strategy

The strategy for the integration launch campaign focused on increasing brand awareness, driving traffic, and acquiring new paying users by showcasing the seamless integration of Issuu's tools into Canva’s design ecosystem (🔗). Targeting both new Canva users and existing Issuu users, the campaign highlighted how beginner and pro creators alike could effortlessly transform their Canva designs into interactive flipbooks and other digital assets using Issuu’s publishing, hosting, and analysis tools. The goal was to communicate the value of this elevated workflow, emphasizing the integration’s ability to streamline content creation and distribution.

Along with my colleagues in the marketing team, I crafted messaging that resonated with content creators, focusing on the integration’s ability to unlock new possibilities for their designs. By highlighting key benefits like Issuu's real-time performance tracking, content repurposing capabilities, and multi-channel distribution power, we reinforced the value of using both platforms together as part of a seamless workflow. This strategy was designed to position Issuu as a vital tool for Canva users to elevate their creations, expand their reach, and improve audience engagement.

Execution

I played a central role in leading the campaign execution, ensuring every deliverable was completed on time and aligned with our strategy. I spearheaded all content creation efforts, writing the copy for key assets such as landing page, blogs, emails, paid ads, and more. Collaborating with the design team, I ensured the visuals were consistent with our messaging, creating a cohesive and compelling user experience. I also worked closely with the customer support team to craft a clear and actionable Help Center article that guided users in navigating the integration.

In addition to overseeing the creation and publication of the integration's landing page, I designed social media posts that drove traffic to the campaign blogs I authored. My ability to work with cross-functional teams allowed us to roll out the campaign smoothly and effectively. Moreover, I collaborated with the Director of Brand on writing the press release, ensuring our messaging was consistent and impactful. Impact

Within the first month, the campaign reached approximately 90K Canva and existing Issuu users, positioning the integration as the premier tool for creative professionals aiming to elevate their design workflow. After being featured on Canva’s social channels (view here 🔗), the campaign gained significant traction, tapping into a highly engaged audience and accelerating visibility.

By the end of the first quarter following the campaign's launch, we had amassed ~15K visits on 8 Canva-related blog posts, resulting in 70 upsells and 1.2K new accounts. This initiative drove meaningful user engagement and revenue growth, solidifying Issuu’s role as an essential platform for creators seeking to streamline their design-to-publishing process.
